World of Warcraft Fiction Forums

Alright everyone.  I've talked alittle to Grim and I don't think he is going to be coming back to WoW.  I won't go into any reasons, as they are his own.  However, one concern he had was this site.

He and I agree that it should be kept open and running, and we both agree that if he is not going to be playing, he shouldn't be expected to pay and maintain the site.

Now, as the site itself is taken care of graphically and very little needs to be done as far as banning spammers and stuff...that area is covered.

What isn't covered is the payment.  it's fairly cheap to maintain this board.  $5 a month, $60 a year.  What we (Grim and I) spoke about was setting up a donation button through paypal.

Something I have thought of was hosting a sort of "contest".  If we could get one or two of the artists to agree...how would you guys like to have a contest for donations?  The person that makes the largest gets a picture, avatar, or forum signature (yes I would allow these) of a character of their choice.  (one type of artwork picture- artist picks).  And a special forum title.  (Benefactor, etc)

The artist doing the work would announce the specs of the picture, their requirements, and what they would be willing to draw (IE a warlock with 1 minion, hunter w/ pet, character in certain location).  The winner would be responsible for submitting screenshots to said artist within a certain timeframe to allow the artist a generous amount of time to work on the project.  (Remember, the artist is working for free here...make things easy on them).

Anyway...what do y'all think?
